What is 90 Cones?
Pittsburgh is a city of neighborhoods. Even those born here, like the Barlow children, rarely explore them all. This project was created as an excuse to visit every corner of our hometown, and to engage in the community through the purchase of ice cream. (It was also created as an excuse to eat more ice cream.) Join us as we move through the city, one sugar cone at a time.
The Rules
Within the official city goverment-defined borders of each neighborhood (viewable here), at least two Barlows must acquire and eat a frozen dessert, and when possible take a walk through the neighborhood.
Who are we?
Meet the family behind the 90 Cones Project.

Liddy Barlow
Mom
Liddy has been eating ice cream for over 40 years. (Not continuously.) Her love of lists finds new purpose in planning destinations for this project.

Pippa Barlow
Age 15
Pippa’s favorite ice cream shop, La Scola’s, has received the sum of her allowance for years. She created this website and writes many of the blogs.

Greg Barlow
Dad
Greg, the first Barlow to live in Pittsburgh, names pie as his favorite dessert, which goes famously well with ice cream. He helped to set up this blog.

Edmund Barlow
Age 12
Edmund enjoys many flavors and rarely has the same one twice, though his favorite is strawberry. His favorite part of this project is eating the ice cream.
