During our weekend with Pippa’s godmothers, Sandy and Angela, we found ourselves in Point Breeze. After a super fun trip to The Frick, where we enjoyed the grounds and gardens, the Car and Carriage Museum, and historic Clayton, we walked over to Frick Park Market. As promised by Mac Miller’s 2011 single named after this store, “anything you need, you can find it at the market.” It offers a variety of ice cream types and flavors. Angela and Edmund both had scooped ice cream: Angela had Perry’s brand Queen of Hearts, a dark chocolate raspberry flavor, and Edmund had raspberry truffle. Pippa had soft serve pineapple Dole Whip, and Sandy had a Nightingale brand banana pudding ice cream sandwich, which won rave reviews. We enjoyed our ice cream on benches outside the shop, near a garage filled with art. Point Breeze is also home to parts of Frick Park and Sterrett Middle School.
Fun Fact:
An American Childhood, the memoir of Annie Dillard, is set in Point Breeze, with many of its landmarks featured throughout the book.
